Linn County 4-H/FFA Fair: Part One ~ Shooting Sports

We started fair this week which takes up about two weeks of our lives in the summer and we LOVE it. We are so tired but benefits far outweigh any amount of sweat and tiredness.

Shooting sports are a big part of our fair experience.

Hannah and Jacob shoot Archery and participate in Hunting and Outdoor Skills.  What a great way to incorporate our learning by schooling outside. They learn how to use a compass, read topographic maps and test taking. The life lessons of gun and outdoor safety and survival are priceless.
With all of the negative in the news of gun violence the media fail to report this wonderful positive of gun safety and enjoyment. With the help of the NRA and local wildlife hunting groups such as National Wild Turkey Federation and local chapters we have a wonderful range in which to allow children the safe way to use a gun and how to enjoy it.

The Jacob also shoots air rifle, air pistol, .22 rifle and muzzleloader which is my favorite to watch.

If you can, get in touch with your local extension office and learn more about 4-H and 4-H shooting sports.
