Chores and FUN

The last few weeks we have went from snow to mud.  During this time it has been a time of both extra work with chores, and some fun. With animals, the snow always makes more work, but we try to take time to enjoy snowy outdoors with extra exercise.
We were able to sled and we tried something new. Kids used stilts in the snow and it worked pretty well as it as easier on you when you fall. We had fun with this after we shoveled my folks' driveway. Work and fun makes the work a little less so.
We were lucky to have a chance to visit a fellow homeschool family to try our luck at hockey with friends on a shallow frozen pond. This can be a rare treat, as usually the ponds freeze with ripples from the wind, but this was very smooth ice.

I brought muffins the day of the Winter Wonderland Party. Made from whole wheat flour, Bob's Red Mill hazelnut meal and using my favorite bread book "The Laurel's Kitchen Bread Book: A Guide to Whole-Grain Breadmaking."
